SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy

What This Page Covers

RehabOS is a rehab execution platform for fix-and-flip real estate investors. This page describes how and when SMS messages are sent to contractors through the RehabOS platform, and how recipients can opt out at any time.

How Consent Is Collected

Contractors are added to a project in RehabOS by the property investor managing the rehab. The opt-in process works as follows:

The investor adds the contractor to their project and enters the contractor's phone number
Before saving, the investor must check a required consent box confirming: "I confirm this contractor has verbally or in writing agreed to receive project-related SMS messages from RehabOS on my behalf"
This checkbox is mandatory — the contractor cannot be saved without it
The consent acknowledgment is logged with a timestamp and associated with the contractor record

Contractors have a direct, existing working relationship with the investor and have provided their phone number as part of that business relationship. Consent is explicitly confirmed by the investor at the point of onboarding before any messages are sent.

Opt-In Workflow (Step by Step)

Investor navigates to the Contractors section inside their RehabOS project
Investor clicks "Add Contractor" and enters name, trade, and phone number
A required consent checkbox is displayed: "I confirm this contractor has agreed to receive project-related SMS messages"
Investor cannot save the contractor without checking this box
Consent is recorded with timestamp in the RehabOS database
First SMS sent includes opt-out instructions: "Reply STOP to opt out at any time"

What Messages Are Sent

SMS messages sent through RehabOS are strictly project-related and may include:

Project status check-in requests
Milestone confirmation requests
Progress photo requests
Timeline update requests
Translated project instructions for non-English speaking contractors

No marketing, promotional, or unrelated messages are ever sent through the RehabOS platform.

Hi Marcus — this is a project update from RehabOS on behalf of [Investor Name] for 7842 S. May St.

Can you give us a quick status update on the plumbing rough-in? Reply to this message and your response will be logged to the project automatically.

Reply STOP to opt out of all project messages. Msg & data rates may apply.

Consent Record

RehabOS logs the following at the time of contractor onboarding:

Investor user ID who confirmed consent
Contractor phone number enrolled
Timestamp of consent confirmation
Project ID associated with the enrollment

These records are retained for the duration of the project and available upon request for compliance review.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the active project and investor check-in cadence. Contractors typically receive 1–3 messages per week per active project.

How to Opt Out

Contractors can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message received. After opting out, no further SMS messages will be sent from that number. To re-enable messages, reply START.

Message & Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan. RehabOS does not charge recipients for SMS messages.

Privacy

Contractor phone numbers are stored securely and used exclusively for project communication. Phone numbers are never sold, shared with third parties, or used for marketing purposes. For more information, contact us at hello@rehabos.ai.
